“ As someone with gluten intolerance, I am always on the lookout and I really, really love this place. The arepas were incredible. ”
“ Great taste, Must try the Bandeja Paisa. The sausage and pork belly on the Bandeja are great, and the tostones with guacamole is a great appetizer to try. I highly recommend this place. ”
“ 5 Stars – An Instant Favorite! We were on our way to get sushi when we walked past The Colombian Spot, checked out the menu, and made a last-minute call to switch plan and I’m so glad we did. The food was incredible. My wife is Colombian, and she said it was the closest to her grandmother’s cooking she’s had in years, which says a lot. We don’t eat out much anymore because quality has gone downhill, but that’s definitely not the case here. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and made with care. This place shot straight to the top of our Pittsburgh favorites, and we’ll be back often. If you’re thinking about going, just do it, you won’t regret it. We already want to go back! ”
“ Anna was a wonderful and attentive waitress. Very friendly .food was on point. Can't wait to return!! ”
“ I never and I mean NEVER write reviews. So this may sound like a Sex in the City rerun more than I’d intended lol. The purpose of my trip was to experience a side of Pittsburgh that wasn’t attached to the party element...Carson street. But here is exactly where I found my new repeat gem. First the staff. My own family couldn’t have been more welcoming. Showered with hellos as soon as I cracked the door. To my knowledge, I had never experienced Brazilian cuisine, they were SUPER receptive to questions about the culture, how things would taste, what’s their favorite dish, what drink to try, how’s my trip so far, what am I reading (Necessary Endings by Dr Henry Cloud) and suggestions on later plans. I mean I felt like I was at a distant cousins house not only from the hospitality but the charm of the environment. Now food/drink. Blew my mind. I ordered the red snapper, the ribs and a host of sides(I will upload a picture). I can’t even do it justice with words. The flavor of the sauce the ribs are braised in is RIDICULOUS. They are tender and fall right off the bone. The skillet keeps them nice and hot while you venture amongst other plates. I’ve never eaten fish in its entirety before but no regrets. Crisp. Flavorful. Presentation felt lively and full of expressive culture. They slice the fish and stuff it with garnishes. The plantains(try the garlic dip OMG, the red bean soup I mean seriously life changing. I also had a drink can’t recall the name but it was made with authentic Brazilian liquor and I second that(I also bought a soursop smoothie). Bill was less than 60. I stayed for longer than needed. Literally talked to the chef who was married to the waitress (so stinking cute). I had a male bartender and I sat at the bar. Experience and quality is what makes this quaint little secret worth talking about. ”
“ Lechona Colombiana special was very good, and excellent with a generous portion of the green sauce. Portion size didn't look like a lot but it was very filling on my empty stomach, really ate more than I should have! The mint pineapple drink was also excellent, far better than I even imagined. Friendly service. ”
“ The food here is amazing! I'm gluten free and about 80% of the menu is gf which is fantastic. We always end up with leftovers because everything looks so good and our eyes are bigger than our stomachs. ”
“ I’m from Philadelphia but have lived in Pittsburgh for almost 20 years. Although Philly is super multicultural, I find Pittsburgh to be homogeneous culturally. This restaurant for sure is part of the solution. Had a large meal for Mother’s Day but the food was light and fresh. My wife loves Latin food. It was a great Mother’s Day choice. ”
